EMILY OWEN

Voice

 

Emily is currently completing a Guildhall Extended Artist Masters in Historical Performance with Marie Vassiliou, coached by Elizabeth Marcus and Mhairi Lawson. Alongside her studies, Emily has a busy freelance career, singing with groups such as Britten Sinfonia Voices, Platinum Consort and Florilegium. She also teaches on National Youth Choir residential courses.

 

Notable recent performances include singing the title role in Charpentier’s ‘Acteon’ in the London Handel Festival and performing the world premiere of John Tavener’s last major work ‘Flood of Beauty’ at the Barbican Centre. Emily has also been found on the operatic stage, with roles such as the Countess (Marriage of Figaro), Belinda (Dido and Aeneas) and Josephine (HMS Pinafore).

 

Emily has participated in masterclasses with Ann Lampard, Claire Weston, Claire Booth, Dame Emma Kirkby, Gavin Edwards, Joseph Crouch, Bojan Cicic and Aislinn Nosky. She was thrilled to join Roby Hughes and Adrian Chandler at the Dartington International Summer School 2015, playing the role of Arbace in Vivaldi’s Catone in Utica.

 

Emily is a singing and piano teacher at ForeSound Academy of Music and Performing Arts and Aspire Project Manager of the London Youth Choir.
